Our Wine

We purchased this property in January 2002. The acquisition of Chateau L'Avocat was quite unique as opportunities to acquire land of this proven quality in the Graves are extremely rare.

Our intention is to make wines in a similar style to those that have been successful and well received from Chateau du Seuil.

Graves Rouge - 5.3 hectares

Most of this in the village of Cérons. The old elevated vineyard is known as 'L'Enclos du L'Avocat'. Vines range in age from 7 years to 50 years old. The red varieties with the approximate percentages are Cabernet Sauvignon 40%, Merlot 50% and Cabernet Franc 10%.

We believe this to be an exceptional parcel of land with good exposure to the sun, wind and classic gravelly soils.

Graves Blanc - 3.0 hectares

Which encompasses the vineyards known as, 'LeBasque', 'Cation' and 'Haut Mayne', which are all in area known as the 'Le plateau des Moulin's a vent'. This is a large plateau of river stones, which is well known for producing some of the best wines in the Graves. The vines are old with an average age of between 30-40 years, which is ideal for our white wine making philosophy focused on low production yield and maximum intensity of flavour and ripeness.

The white varieties with approximate percentages are Sauvignon Blanc 30% and Semillon 60% and 10% Sauvignon Gris.
